For some time now, I have been using an interface device, WINTV USB2, which is simply a TV tuner which allows me not only to watch TV in a window on my desktop, but also to record snippets from DVD’s and to grab still frames. This has become invaluable in my work as a media literacy expert and professional development presenter. The manufacturer is Hauppauge, and it is extremely user friendly.

Doesn’t seem to be a problem in Version 11. However, if you are having problems, you will find the ‘overlay’ options under the DVD tab.

I do not have an advanced option under the performance tab for Windows Media Player. I am using Version 11 if that makes a difference.
